The Wheelchair Basketball Experience

About Gordon Perry
Gordon Perry is a passionate sportsman. He won the first London Wheelchair marathon in 1983 and competed in many more, but his first love has always been wheelchair basketball. Gordon has played National League basketball at all levels for 26 years. With LGS Jets he won the First Division National Championships (the forerunner to today's Premier League) three times.

He has won the National games Championships with three separate clubs and represented Great Britain from 1982 until 1991. He went on to coach the Great Britain Junior Team and the GB Women's Team. As well as a long spell as the National Development Manager for Wheelchair Basketball, he has seen the sport grow from 32 teams playing in three divisions, to almost 70 teams playing in 8 divisions.

He has personally been involved in creating many new teams and has introduced many young players into a sport that has been life-changing. Gordon continues to play National league wheelchair basketball and is head coach for two National League teams. He is ideally qualified to head the Wheelchair Basketball Experience, as he is one of the most knowledgeable wheelchair basketball players and coaches in the UK.

Gordon has been organising wheelchair basketball workshops in schools, colleges and universities throughout the UK for the past 16 years; he has a vast knowledge of the sport to call on in order to run the successful Wheelchair Basketball Experience workshops.
